Govt assures sincere effort to make Hornbill fest better in coming years

Invites feedback, opinions from public till Dec 30

The state’s tourism department maintained that the 19th edition of Hornbill Festival 2018 was a resounding success with record number of visitors and assured sincere effort to make the festival better in the coming years.


“The festival continues to emerge as an attractive destination for tourists. The positive support from the local population has been a strong aspect of the event which showcases culture, heritage and vibrancy of the youth,” the tourism secretary stated.


It maintained that the event was a success despite shortcomings and assured to “sincerely endeavours” to make the festival better in the coming years.


There is always room for improvement, the secretary stated.


The secretary stated that that the people of Nagaland are the real stakeholders of “this priceless intellectual property that has proven that properly streamlined tourism has tremendous potential to positively impact the present, and future generations, in all dimensions.”


On way forward, the secretary stated that the state government’s policy is to actively engage all sections to improve our events and tourism policy.”


The department invites feedback, opinions and suggestions on the Hornbill festival, and tourism as a whole.


“A comprehensive study will be carried out and report submitted to the appropriate authority, to further improvement initiatives,” the secretary stated.
