NEZCC presents National Dance & Music Day at Kisama

Cultural troupes from Odhisa, Assam, Manipur, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir today performed at the National Dance and Music Day here at Kisama in the presence of Nagaland’s governor P.B. Acharya and host of dignitaries.

 

 

This cultural programme, organized by North East Cultural Centre (NEZCC), was part of North East Day in this Hornbill Festival.

 

Odhisa representing East Zonal Cultural Centre performed Dalkhai Dance. Cultural troupe from Assam performed Gumrag dance. Madhya Pradesh representing South Central Cultural Zone made energetic performance on Baredi dance. Manipur performed skillful Hang-ta dance. Thang-Ta is the martial art of Manipur practiced with swords and spear. Manipur also performed Cheirol Jagoi dance. Meghalaya performed Wangala dance. Wangala is a tribal dance of the Garos and is performed during the Wangala festival of Meghalaya. Chattisgarh also representing South Central Cultural Zone performed Panthi Nritya dance. Jammu & Kashmir representing North Zone Cultural Centre performed Rouf dance.
