“True Love Keeps Moving”- a collection of prose and poetry written by 27-year old Wedekhro Naro was released on December 15 by PenThrill Publication at Ura Hotel, Kohima.

The collection is a 112-paged book comprising of seven stories in prose and 20 poems. The collection is also the 17th Publication of PenThrill.

In his address, Colo Mero, Director of Life Ministries stated that Wedekhro’s stories are ‘original, true and alive’. “We live in a society where talks about love, sex and marriage are considered taboo and shameful. But we also come from a society where beheading and bedding beautiful women were honoured and respected and were rewarded,” stated Mero who expressed optimism that Naro’s works will inspire healthy and valuable relationships in Naga society.

Appreciating the ‘brutal honesty’ of the author, Mero pointed out the reserved attitude of relationships in Naga society which needs to be addressed. “When we are positive and on the right track, there is no shame in sharing mistakes in life. These are issues but we need people who would open up so that people can learn from your mistakes. Opening up your minds, your heart and your life is the way to inspiring people. The truly courageous men, the real men are those who would say no to what is wrong and yes to what is right even if he is to be mocked. The author is one rising example both at work and in life,” asserted Mero.

Providing a review of the book, Dr. Kevilenuo Sakhrie, former HoD of English Department, Kohima College stated the book is ‘a journey of self-discovery’.

“Every book has a life of its own and True Love Keeps Moving comes across as funny, entertaining; a book that’s honest and is essentially filled with the emotion of love,” said Vishü Rita Krocha, Publisher of PenThrill Publication.
Krocha acknowledged the remarkable achievements of Naro- who grew up in the village deprived of many luxuries in life and confronted with struggles at a young age- to have come this far and ‘prove to the world that there is always a place for dreams to come true if you work hard’.

While the book is partly fiction, Krocha believed that the book is also inspired from personal experiences.

“All our lives are stories that need to be told— and we tell them in different ways. As some of us do, Wedekhro has chosen the form of writing to tell stories that shape lives in ways more than one. If there is one word for me to describe the book, then I would say True Love Keeps Moving is inspiring. There are instances in the book that makes you want to pause and reflect about your own life, which, I think is an important essence of a good book,” remarked Krocha.

Naro graduated in English Literature from Kohima College and currently works with Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait.
