‘If voted back, we’ll put Congress MLA in jail for ‘lungi’ remarks’

Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said the BJP government, once voted back to power, will put Congress MLA Sherman Ali behind bars for his remarks that “blue coloured lungis” will be kept at the “miya” museum, which he demanded to be set up at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra. The Kalakshetra is a centre for showcasing Assam’s Vaishnavite culture and heritage.
