The local residents of Chandrapur have strongly opposed and condemned the shifting of the city's garbage dumping site from Boragaon in West Guwahati to the newly-chosen site in Chandrapur in the eastern suburbs of the city, where a significant portion of the landscape still remains virgin, fearing the move will affect the biodiversity of the area.from
