Amid resistance & designated zones’ demand, GMC starts evicting street vendors since June 1

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has evicted hundreds of street hawkers from different parts of the city since June 1 amid strong resistance from traders and ignoring the demand of the vendors’ association of setting up designated vending zones ahead of the eviction drive.
