Assam govt proposes to remove jail provision for violation of labour laws

The Assam government on Tuesday tabled 10 amendment bills proposing decriminalization all the labour laws of the state by replacing the existing criminal penal provisions of imprisonment in them with civil penalties through hefty fines.
