Lumami, November 1 (MExN): The Department of Zoology, Nagaland University, Lumami organized a UGC-sponsored national conference on ‘Contemporary Excitement in New Biology’ on October 30 and 31.
The inaugural programme was held on October 30, with Prof. Pardeshi Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University as the chief guest. The keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Anupam Chatterjee, NEHU.
The technical sessions incorporated a series of invited talks, presentation talks, as well as platform talks. The conference covered a wide-ranging topic starting from discussion on diseases such as diabetes, cancer and Parkinson’s to bio-resources as alternative source of food security and therapeutic use, among others. The conference brought together experts in the field from all over the country, including former Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University Prof. BK Konwar.
The valedictory programme was held at the end of the second day with Dr. Abemo, Registrar, Nagaland University as the chief guest.
