DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 2 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) today expressed concern at the prevailing law and order situation in Dimapur “where many rampant collections and kidnapping cases are taking place at this time of festive season.”

A press note from the PAC Convener, Vekhosayi Nyekha and Co-Convener, K Ghokheto Chopy claimed that these crimes are being carried out “mostly by the NPG cadres,” and “on enquiry to the higher ups, it is learnt that these activities are done without their knowledge.” It therefore asked the concerned authorities to keep their respective cadres “under control and maintain complete discipline so as not to create any uwanted situation.” The PAC meanwhile also clarified that the “culprits involved in the kidnapping of the Manager of KK transport Agency on December 1 was carried out by the GPRN/NSCN and not as reported.”
