Zunheboto, March 1 (MExN): The All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Zunheboto Unit organized a workshop for teachers in Zunheboto at Corner Stone school Zunheboto.
Resource person Lethika Lalparlien, Purpose Driven Family (PDF) Ministry, West Bengal conducted the workshop on the topic ‘soft skills, developing literacy in young learners and lesson plan making’, stated a press release from Asst. Teacher, Corner Stone school Tavinto K Sümi.
The resource person stressed on the importance of teachers building a healthy relationship with the students. She also spoke on listening and communication skills, perseverance and decision making.
On developing literacy in young learners, she said that it is not reading and writing but it is listening and speaking skills that should first be developed in a child for them to be able to effectively read and write. Speaking on lesson plan making, she said that planning acts as a road map for a class session that identifies the destination and marks out the route for each stage of the lesson and added that lesson plan should involve all round listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of the students. The workshop was attended by 93 teachers from 6 different schools. Earlier, a brief introduction was given by ANPSA (Z) President Tokavi Suu.
