Get ready to pay hefty fines as Assam governmentt kicks in MV Amendment Act

Assam government on Monday implemented the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act in the state after it had a smooth sailing with almost no opposition faced. As per order of the state transport department, driving without licence will now lead to a fine of Rs 5,000 while racing and trials of speed will also cost the same penalty to riders.
