Lower Phase-1 turnout upsets parties’ election calculations

A comparatively lower voter turnout in the 47 seats of Assam that went to the polls in the first phase on Saturday, especially in the dominant tea belt, has forced political parties to recalibrate their winning marks ahead of the approaching two remaining phases next month.
