The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed Assam chief secretary and the state police chief to enquire into alleged brutal attack on a junior doctor and vandalism by a mob at a Covid care centre in Assam’s Hojai district on Tuesday, to take “needful preventive and punitive action” and submit an action-taken report in four weeks.
