DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 1 (MExN): Nagaland Cabinet has constituted a Committee to look into the issue of the recognition of Khehoi village under ‘Dimapur district,’ in response to the complaint lodged by the Lamhai Village Council and ultimatum issued by the Working Co-ordination Committee on Zeliangrong Land Issue.
A DIPR report stated that this was resolved during a Cabinet meeting held on October 30, 2018. The dire necessity for resolving the matter of Inter-District Boundary between Peren and Dimapur was also discussed.
The Committee constituted to take up the issue includes Commissioner, Nagaland as chairman, Secretary, Land Revenue as member secretary, and Deputy Commissioners of Dimapur and Peren as members.
The Committee will physically verify the demarcation of the village boundaries between the two villages viz. Khehoi and Lamhai village and submit its report to the Home Department within 3 (three) months for taking decision by the Cabinet.
The Committee will examine and make an on the spot verification of the Inter-District boundaries between Dimapur and Peren and submit its report to the Home Department within 6 (six) months.
The Committee may also take a reference to the exercise undertaken by R. Ezung’s Committee earlier and subsequent Notification issued vide GAB-3/25/2003 dated September 20, 2013. The Committee may also hear and obtain the views/opinions of various tribal bodies concerned.
