Assam government challenges veracity of NRC update process in assembly

The BJP-led Assam government on Thursday set itself on a collision course with the Supreme Court, questioning the veracity of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) - being updated by the Registrar General of India under the apex court's supervision - in the assembly and accusing the NRC authorities of keeping the government out of the loop regarding the process.
