Small tea growers in north Assam and Bought Leaf Factory (BLFs) units are facing an alarming situation in the state after tea was auctioned at a price as low as Rs 60 per kg last week at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre here. Around 30% of the total tea produced in Assam comes from the north bank of the Brahmaputra.
