Peasant leader and Raijor Dal (RD) president Akhil Gogoi, who was strongly against the AIUDF in the opposition Mahajot to take on the BJP and was even blamed for weakening the alliance because of his stubborn resistance to any whiff of Badruddin Ajmal in the grand alliance, may not stand to benefit hugely from the proposed split with the AIUDF as the Congress is till scouting for like-minded friends to fill up the gap.
