Aabhijeet Sharma, whose petition in 2009 prompted the Supreme Court to order the updating of the NRC of 1951, reiterated his demanded for reverification exactly two years after the final version of the National Register of Citizens was published on August 31 containing names of 3.11 crore people, who were considered Indian citizens living in Assam, but leaving out nearly 19 lakh names.
