A 53-year-old assistant sub-inspector of Assam Police shot himself dead while he was on duty at the Silchar sadar police station on Monday. ASI Gourbidhu Singh, a resident of Moynarbandh village in Udharband block of Cachar district, was posted here for the last three years.
