A number of discrepancies have been found during the process of depositing of fees by Assam colleges to the state exchequer. During inquiries by the state director of financial inspection, it was found that many colleges were not depositing 70 per cent of the tuition fee collected from students in time. Calling it an 'irregularity', the directorate of higher education has fixed October 30 as the last date for depositing the pending amount.from
