After the unavailable map of the ancient burial grounds of Ahom royals, known as 'Maidams' in Upper Assam's Charaideo district, came in the way of the aspiring world heritage site from getting the coveted tag from Unesco, the district administration has finally approved the plea of history enthusiasts and started conducting a fresh survey of the historic monuments of Charaideo, the erstwhile capital of the Ahom kingdom, which ruled Assam for 600 years till the advent of the British. from
