With tea gardens locked down and plucking suspended, Tea Board of India said that the industry in Assam and West Bengal will suffer revenue losses to the tune of around 22%. According to the board's estimates, while West Bengal - where Darjeeling is the main the hub of tea production - will suffer 30% loss of revenue loss and 15% in volume, Assam will witness a 15% loss of revenue and 12% loss of volume.
