Assam’s forest department has submitted an affidavit to the Gauhati High Court saying Oil India Limited (OIL) has not done any biodiversity impact assessment study for extended drilling at seven oil wells beneath the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park. OIL has already received environmental clearance from the Union ministry of environment, forest and climate change for the drilling in May this year.
