In the wake of Republic Day boycott call given by Ulfa-I and the NSCN (GPRN), security has been stepped up in CM Sarbananda Sonowal’s home district Dibrugarh. Dibrugarh being the chief minister’s home district and also the home of Ulfa commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah, security agencies fear that the latter may direct his cadres to carry out subversive activities on Republic Day to prove their prowess.
