The Gauhati High Court, while expressing concern over authorities demolishing houses with bulldozers in the name of investigation, has taken suo moto cognizance of such an action by the Assam Police which had razed houses of five men accused of torching a police station in Nagoan district last May. A bench of chief justice RM Chhaya and justice Soumitra Saikia asked the Assam Police to clarify under which law houses were bulldozed.from
