Assam has sufficient food stock to last over three months even if there is a lockdown. Assam chief secretary Jishnu Barua on Thursday said the state has enough food stock and markets are operating smoothly. “There is no complaint of shortage of food grains and markets are operating in the state. We have enough to meet the requirements,” Barua said, ruling out a “complete lockdown” as of now.
