In a first since 1996, Ulfa-I not to give I-Day boycott call

Amid Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s ongoing efforts to bring Ulfa (I), the last remaining militant outfit of the state to the discussion table and sign the elusive peace agreement, the outfit, for the first time since 1996, has decided not to give a call to boycott the Independence Day this year.
