A police officer in Assam’s Darrang district was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly framing a false theft case against a doctor and a teacher and demanding Rs 5 lakh from them for withdrawing the case.The accused cop, Utpal Bora, is the officer-in-charge (OC) of Kharupetia police station.
