Ahead of Independence Day, at least 10 members of two modules of Bangladesh-based radical Islamic group Ansar ul-Islam, a chapter of al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), were arrested in Assam in the last 48 hours. A madrassa teacher is among those held.
