Assam: Jorhat school faces merger due to low student count, villagers fight to bring back dropouts

When a lower primary school in a village in Assam's Jorhat district with a handful of students was issued a closure notice by the state government, the teachers and the villagers were faced with a do-or-die fight to save the 59-year-old institution.
