The absence of dividers on busy roads in Guwahati has increased the risk of accidents, according to pedestrians. Dividers can prevent unauthorized U-turns, discourage rash driving, and separate traffic moving in opposite directions. The most vulnerable stretches are Dr RP Road, Dr B Baruah Road, and Maniram Dewan Road. Plastic dividers and steel traffic barricades have been placed in some areas, but most of the dividers are broken. Unruly drivers taking U-turns in the middle of the road are causing disruptions and endangering lives. The police have sent a request to the Public Works Department to build dividers on the road.from
