Assam assembly members ask government to take steps against witch-hunting

Cutting across party lines, members of the state legislative assembly on Friday asked the government to generate strong awareness against rampant acts of “witch-hunting” and other superstitious practices, which have claimed at least 161 lives in 18 years in the state.
