Dept of Land Resources accords farewell to outgoing Director

Kohima, February 1 (MExN): The Department of Land Resources organised a farewell programme in honor of the outgoing Director, Hoto Yeptho on January 31 at the Directorate of Land Resources.


According to a DIPR report, Hoto Yeptho, while delivering his farewell speech, said that the day of retirement is an auspicious day where all government servants look forward to.


He expressed that during his service, success and failure were present but he had always given his best and therefore today he was happily retiring with no regrets.


He also shared his experiences during his service and lauded his officers and staff for their commendable duties and urged them to continue to give their best, because he is handing over the Department into the safe hand of T.Renben Lotha the incoming Director, who himself is committed, straight forward and willing to work for the betterment of the department and for the people.


Hoto acknowledged the Department for taking the initiative in organising such a grand retirement programme for him and said that if he can be of help to this department after his retirement then he was always ready to help.


Commissioner & Secretary, Land Resources, Kikheto Sema, IAS while delivering farewell speech mentioned that, parting is always a mixed emotion and when it is someone that is so close and dear to the department who have served 35 years of his life for the welfare and well-being of the Department and State.


He mentioned that in the record of the Government he has served sincerely, discharged his duties diligently, and had delivered maximum good work to the needy people of the State. He added that Hoto helped, motivated and molded lots of people and today they are responsible leaders in our society.
T Renben Lotha, incoming Director lauded the outgoing Director for his tremendous contributions to the society and streamlining the department, he added that the man is a ‘Perfect gentlemen, caring and generous,’ while most notably, ‘a God fearing person.’


He said that, under the extraordinary leadership of the outgoing officer, the department, while ‘grounded on a long-term humanitarian vision, focused on green Infrastructure’ that would lead to environmental ethics and restoration of regional integrity and focused on a destination to ensure clean air, water and productive land. Reiterating a quote by John Lennon that ‘the purpose of life is to be happy,’ TR Lotha extended gratitude towards the outgoing officer for his 35 years of selfless service and wished happiness in his new phase of a retired life.


The programme was chaired by Joint Director, A Panjung Jamir. Invocation and benediction was pronounced by Deputy Director, Puvili Kikhi and Neilhoukhoto Kuotsu. Vote of thanks was delivered by Joint Director, Albert Ngullie. Speeches was also delivered on behalf of Ministerial staff from Registrar, Botovi Sema; Districts DPO Dimapur, Acalu Chishi; State Level Nodal Agency, Technical Advisor, Benthung and from family, friends and well-wishers. Special number was presented by Dziesekhrienuo Keretsu.
