Kohima, february 1 (MExN): The Midland Panchayat Kohima has condemned the rape of a minor girl allegedly by one Robert Debburman, 34 years of age, a married man hailing from Tripura. The minor, 11 years of age who was staying as a helper to the accused revealed to the colony people when she came to fetch water in the nearby vicinity. A condemnation note from Chairman, Midland Panchayat Visa Merü stated that the accused “used to molest and rape the minor on different occasions in his house.”
Condemning the act as “inhuman” to commit such “sinful and shameful crime,” the Midland Panchaya declared that the accused “is expelled and ex-communicated for lifetime from the colony with immediate effect.” Furthermore, the Panchayat appealed to different sections of society to condemn the act and also appealed the right authority to award befitting punishment tot the accused, as per the law of the land. It further warned that any person(s) trying to bail out the accused will be doing so at their own risk.
Meanwhile, the Midland Panchayat shared the grief of the victim and her family and and prayed for “God’s grace and mercy at this dark hour in their life.”
