NSRLM Kuhuboto conducts financial literacy awareness camp

Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Block Mission Management Unit Kuhuboto in collaboration with Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, NSA Branch conducted Financial Literacy Awareness Camp for Self Help Groups (SHGs) at Suhoi village on February 22.


A press release from Block Programme Manager, Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) Kuhuboto Chenton Konyak said it was attended by SHGs from Suhoi village, Ahozhe village, Xekiye village and Lotovi village which were promoted by NSRLM.


The programme was chaired by Chenton Konyak, Block Programme Manager. Phoishe Sema BDO cum Block Mission Manager BMMU Kuhuboto in his welcome address reminded the SHGs that the days when SHGs were formed for the sake of subsidy are gone. With the launching of NSRLM in Kuhuboto Block, he hoped that women folk from Kuhuboto Block will rise from poverty.


Grace Aye, an SHG member from Toluvi Village under RD block Chümoukedima who is posted as Bank Sakhi at NSCB NSA branch also encouraged the SHGs to continue working hard, sharing her experience after joining SHG. DGM NSCB Khewoto spoke about banking procedures, steps to open Bank Account for SHGs, how to apply loan, how to judiciously use loan and repay on time, benefits of opening account. Various Insurance Schemes, Bank Accounts were also opened on the spot for Group Accounts and Individual accounts. Vote of thanks was delivered by Vihoshe Yepthomi GB Suhoi.
