A committee set up by the BJP-led government in Assam to identify encroachment of land belonging to called 'satras' (Vaishnavite institutions), in its interim report on Friday, revealed that over 1800 hectares of land of over 300 'satras' are under encroachment and has recommended immediate eviction of illegal squatters.from
