Thousands of Chakmas and Hajongs from various parts of Arunachal Pradesh converged on Diyun town in Changlang district on Friday to step up the pressure on the state government for the restoration of residential proof certificates (RPCS) for the two communities. Local MLA and independent legislator from Diyun Bordumsa constituency, Somlung Mossang, took part in the rally. He assured the protesters that he will talk to the Chief Minister for an amicable solution "despite protests and memorandum submissions the government has failed to address the issue. We will not let the government succeed in its attempt to trample Chakmahajongs." Drishya Muni Chakma President of Arunachal Pradesh Chakma Students' Union said.
