Under Operation Ajay, Indian students and researchers who were stranded in Israel due to the Israel-Hamas conflict are being evacuated and brought back to Assam. Those who have returned shared their experiences of being caught off-guard by the conflict and having to take shelter in bunkers. They described the fear of both rocket attacks and possible ground assaults. Despite their relief at being able to return home, some expressed sadness at having to cut short their research dreams in Israel.
