Several districts in west and north Assam have been hit by heavy rainfall, causing floods in villages near the Arunachal Pradesh border. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in seven northeastern states. Approximately 1,500 people in Assam's Dhemaji district have been affected by the floods. The IMD has also issued red and orange alerts for several districts in Assam and neighboring states. The heavy rainfall has brought down temperatures in the region.
