Around 4,000 to 5,000 people from Myanmar, including 39 army personnel, have sought refuge in Mizoram's Champhai district following clashes between the ruling junta-backed forces and militia groups. Among the refugees, 21 are injured, with five in critical condition. The injured have been taken to Aizawl for treatment. The Myanmar army personnel who escaped from their army camp have surrendered their weapons at a police station in Zokhawthar. One refugee, who had been staying in a camp in Mizoram for a year, was killed by a stray RPG fired by the Myanmar army.from
