A patrol of Assam Rifles survived an ambush by suspected militants near the India-Myanmar border in Manipur's Tengnoupal district. The attackers detonated an IED and opened fire on the patrol. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Assam Rifles had previously engaged in a shootout with militants from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in the same area.
