Ulfa (Independent) chief Paresh Baruah expresses openness to peace talks with Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Baruah wants assurance that the issue of sovereignty will be discussed during negotiations. He believes discussions on sovereignty do not violate the Indian Constitution and are important in a democracy. Baruah acknowledges the possibility of involving Ulfa (I) in the peace process and expresses hope in Sarma's role. He criticizes the recent peace deal for lacking specificity and describes it as 'less descriptive and more ruminative'.
