DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): The National Democratic Front of Bodoland has called for a 12 hour Assam Bandh on January 31. A press release from the NDFB General Secretary stated that the bandh has been called in light of the life sentence awarded to the organisation’s President, DR Nabla and nine others by a CBI special court on January 30. They were sentenced for involvement in the October 30, 2008 serial blasts in Assam. The press statement however did not specify the exact time when the bandh would take effect.
