Tuensang, Janaury 30 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Tuensang in collaboration with NSS, Sao Chang Government College (SCGC), Tuensang held District Youth Parliament (DYP) for Peren and Tuensang District as part of National Youth Parliament Festival 2019, on January 28 at SCGC conference hall.
NSS Committee member Tongpangkokla Chang, Assistant Professor Department of Botany (SCGC) gave the welcome address. Oath of allegiance was taken by the participants followed by parliament proceedings by speaker elect.
Akyuba Sangtam, Assistant Professor, Dept of English exhorted the participants on the importance of DYP and urged the students to be proactive in all education oriented activities.
The jury board for the DYP was Nungsangtola, Asst Professor Dept of Physics & NSS programme officer (SCGC); T Yonghopi Sangtam, retired DSO; Seponglemla, General Secretary NPF 53A/C sadar (I).
For Tuensang district, Chubasangla Chang was adjudged the winner, Betikundang and C Changlangmai Chang was adjudged the first and second runners up respectively.
For Longlen District, Chingmei M Phom emerged as the winner with T Phakmei and Sungbham L Phom as the first and second runners up respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by Yiben Humtsoe, Programme Coordinator NYK, Tuensang.
