Consultative meeting on CAB at Dimapur

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Apropos the consultative meeting being convened by the State Government with all Political Parties, Tribal Hohos and NGOs on January 31, 2019 (Thursday) at 10:00 am at the Rhododendron Hall, Central Police Officers Mess, Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Nagaland to discuss about the citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016, the names of the President, CNTC, Dimapur and President, Nagaland GBs Federation were inadvertently left out. The DIPR in a press release has expressed deep regret for the unintentional error and the State Government has requested the above mentioned to attend the meeting.

Thenucho Tunyi condoles demise of Fernandes

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Former Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Thenucho Tunyi has expressed sadness over the demise of George Fernandes who passed away on January 29. “I came to know George in 1977 and we have remained friends for more than 40 years,” stated the message from Former Speaker NLA. He was a trustworthy leader, always down to earth and remained the same whether he was in or out of the government. The message further stated that he was the face of Secularism in Indian politics, kind hearted and free from corruption. “George was among the few politicians in India who knew about the political rights of the Nagas,” stated Thenucho. “I will always be indebted to him. In his death we have lost a true friend of the Nagas and the North-East.” Thenucho prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Dept of Land Resources to organize farewell prog for retiring Director

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Department of Land Resources will be organizing a farewell programme in honor of their retiring Director, Hoto Yeptho on January 31 at Directorate of Land Resources. According to DIPR report, speeches will be delivered by Commissioner & Secretary, Land Resources, Y KikhetoSema, IAS and incoming Director, T RenbenLotha. Deputy Director, Land Resources Puvil Kikhi and Neilhoukhoto Kuotsu will offer invocation and benediction prayer respectively. Joint Director, Land Resources, Albert Ngullie will propose vote of thanks while Dziesekhrienuo Keretsu will present a special number. Joint Director, Land Resources, A Pangjung Jamir will chair the programme.

KMC inform wards

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all the wards under the Kohima Municipality that, under AMRUT, the KMC will be taking up boundaries demarcation for Master Plan. Kovi Meyase, Administrator, KMC in a press release has directed all the wards to send at least two or three members to the KMC office to identify the demarcation on the following dates- February 7 : Ward 1,2,3,4 & 5,February 8 : Ward 6,7,8,9 & 10, February 11 : Ward 11,12,13,14 & 15, February 12 : Ward 16, 17, 18 & 19.

NUHM conducts orientation training

Wokha, January 30 (MExN): Under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), Nagaland orientation training for colony Chairmen and para-medical staffs on Family Health Assessment and disease profiling for urban areas and neighboring villages was held on January 29 at CMO office. Dr Robin CMO and Dr Zuben Dy CMO trained the participants on how to fill up the Family Health Assessment formats and furnish the authentic data. The chairmen were also asked to provide all assistance to the health personnel and to inform the colony members to co-operate with the team. Dr Robin Lotha, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha in a press release has directed the survey team to start the survey from January 30 till February 15.

GBUD informs on mass social work

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): GB’s Union Dimapur (GBUD) in collaboration with DAN, Tenant Union and Vendors Union has convened a mass social work in and around Super Market area on February 2 at 7:30 am. T Onen Jamir, General Secretary in a press release has requested all its members to attend along with Bilcha, spade or broom positively. GB members’ attendance will be maintained. It has further informed all the general public that the present Wednesday market will be similarly held every Friday also, so as to accommodate and facilitate the organic vegetable vendors and other marketers, also to fulfill public demand. It mentioned that arrangement has been done with due permission from DAN Authority. The Union has requested all to avail this facility with effect from February 1.
