The former dgp of the Assam Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, has retired after a long career in the police force. He has praised the present state government for backing the police department and ensuring easy access to police services for the public. He says that he and the new dgp, GP Singh, discussed the issues of the police department, including the need for infrastructure development and the reducing the load of pending cases by proper investigation. He says that the present state government has been backing the police department to realize the dreams and plans since it took over in May 2021. Mahanta says that he is grateful for getting respect and wide support from all the police officers and personnel of all ranks. He wishes to continue to be a part of the Assam Police.
